- All Savannah Campus online students must complete a four-class requirement (11 weeks in duration) in person at our campus, in a program that has been approved by the ABA.
- It can take as little as three years to earn a bachelor's degree in Legal Studies on any campus. We accept transferable college credits if you hope to complete your degree sooner.
- You can also attend classes in this program in person at one of our campuses.
The Paralegal Studies program prepares students for rewarding careers as paralegals or legal assistants. Staying current with professional trends, the paralegal program offers students both concentrated course work and a supervised professional externship in public and private legal environments, like police departments, law firms, real estate companies, title companies, banks and trusts, and the courts.
Attorneys use paralegals diversely to be effective in family law, personal injury, criminal law and more. While they are able to perform specifically delegated substantive legal work for which a lawyer is responsible, they are not able to set fees, give legal advice, or represent clients in a court of law.
The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice program is appropriate for graduating high school students who want to begin a career in criminal justice, adults seeking to change to a new career, or for criminal justice professionals seeking promotional positions.
The curriculum for this program offers a complete, relevant, practitioner-oriented preparation for a career in this dynamic and rapidly expanding field. Students in the program can select from one of the five concentrations: juvenile justice, corrections, law enforcement, investigating crime scenes (CSI), and Internet crime.
The classes foster a practical understanding of the criminal justice system and all of its inner workings, and expose students to the social, legal, and technological challenges that the profession presents. Among the concepts used to prepare our graduates for entry-level positions are the understanding of criminology, law enforcement, juvenile justice, corrections, the judicial process, and criminal law as they apply these to their current jobs.
