The image of a private investigator has been a part of novels, shows, and movies for decades. However, PIs don’t often single-handedly chase down bad guys. In fact, many of them are employed in rather routine things, such as performing background investigations, and may work in firms or for corporations. Coursework at private investigation schools in Florida include surveillance techniques and equipment, investigation tactics, reporting findings, ethics, and yes, background checks. Private investigators also learn how to find reliable sources of information, conduct interviews, and do research.
