Schools Offering Online Policing programs

The police are a local law enforcement body that keep peace and order as well as work to protect both people and property within a city. Police officers may make arrests, patrol specific areas or neighborhoods, direct traffic, issue traffic tickets, provide temporary emergency assistance, avert crime, write incident reports, or perform other duties depending on the needs of the particular community the police officers serve.

Police officers must be physically and mentally fit for the rigors of the job. In addition, some police departments, especially the larger ones, require formal education in policing or another criminal justice field.
