At paralegal schools in Utah, you’ll receive an education that will prepare you to be a valuable team member in a law office, corporate legal department, or government legal agency. A paralegal’s education consists of learning about legal terminology, law office procedure, legal ethics, the U.S. court system, computer software programs, legal documents, and legal writing and research. Because training programs include diplomas, associate’s degrees, and bachelor’s degrees, the other courses that are added to this foundation vary. They may include basic accounting, civil law, constitutional law, family law, real estate law, interview techniques, investigation skills, and more. Although certification is voluntary, it’s a good way to verify your level of experience and skill. Several certifying associations are available, such as the Association of Legal Assistants and Paralegals (NALA).
