A rigorous academic environment forms the core of all of our programs, with a focus on extensive hands-on learning, interactive classes, and mentoring relationships with faculty members. Whether you sign up with the Corps of Cadets or start with a traditional collegiate experience, you can expect the biggest challenge in your entire life.

Norwich University's baccalaureate program in Criminal Justice provides students with a curriculum founded in the liberal arts but also focuses on knowledge and critical thinking about issues relating to crime, criminal law, the criminal justice system, and the socio-cultural environments which influence human behavior. The interdependence between the knowledge gained through theory and research and real-world practice is emphasized in the program. It also aims to build a commitment to the ideals of fairness, integrity and service to society, and to develop leadership qualities.

Gain the full experience needed to be ready for an exciting and lucrative career in the criminal justice and related fields though internships, career counseling, pre-law advising, incorporated curriculum case analysis, police and court observations, field trips, simulations, and guest-lectures. The Vermont Center for Justice Research (VCJR), presently operated by criminal justice faculty from Norwich, provides opportunities for internships and work-study positions. There are only seven university-affiliated centers in the country that analyze crime statistics and help shape the criminal justice system in their states and VCJR is one of them. Scholarships are available to students from the Information Assurance Scholarship Program for a special minor in computer crimes and forensics.
