Legal assistant schools in Mississippi offer students associate’s degrees in preparation for a career as a legal assistant or paralegal. Paralegals and legal assistants do much of the same work as attorneys such as legal research, preparing for court cases, interacting with clients, writing legal documents and strategizing cases. By law legal assistants and paralegals may not give legal advice, bill for their services, and present in court. Legal assistant and paralegal careers are expected to grow at a much faster rate than most careers because of the value they bring to a legal team and their relatively affordable salary. Most paralegals work in private law offices.
