The Criminal Justice offerings at ITT Technical Institutes give students the basics in criminal justice. The program gives students a good grounding in criminal law, legal procedures, rules of evidence, and criminology. You'll learn about policing, criminal justice and the prison system.

Advanced courses allow deeper study of criminal justice, with concentrations in victimology, criminalistics, and computer forensics.

Students who graduate from this program can choose from a variety of entry-level positions, such as criminal justice, local, state, and federal law enforcement, parole and probation officers, and more. In addition, the program will give students sufficient academic training to explore a broad range of criminal justice careers in the private sector, working in insurance companies, corporations, or on their own as private detectives and consultants.

This program of study is 15 quarters for a full-time student. A usual course class takes about four to five hours. If enough students enroll, classes can be found from early morning until evening. Classes are available on the World Wide Web for some programs. From this program, students can continue on to a bachelor degree.

At ITT Technical Institutes the Criminal Justice's Associate Degree program instructs students in the basics of the criminal justice system as well as in the basic skills of criminal justice. Students in the program develop an essential foundation of knowledge of criminal law, legal procedures, criminal evidence and criminology. Some of the areas of learning include the courts, correction institutions, and law enforcement. Upon graduating from this program, students can begin their careers in their choice of a grand array of entry-level jobs that incorporate law enforcement, community correction, security type duties and private investigation.

A full-time student will complete the program in 8 quarters, taking a typical set of courses. An average class runs four to five hours. There are usually, according to the number of students enrolling, classes that you can take in the morning, afternoon or in the evenings. Cyber Security (Residence Bachelor's Program) Bachelor of Science Degree

The essentials of the criminal justice system, in addition to criminal justice skills, are covered in this program. Foundation in criminal law, legal procedures, criminal evidence and criminology is offered by the program. Law enforcement, the courts and corrections, are included in the areas of study. Also included is a foundation on the risks and damages associated with digital fraud and cyber crimes, including Internet crime, cyber stalking, electronic crime and identity theft. This course of study also includes courses in intrusion detection in network security, firewalls, virtual private networks (VPNs), virtual local area networks (VLANs), backup and disaster recovery techniques, smart card security, and estimation and management of risks associated with security. The upper-level classes focus on a wide range of specialties in the criminal justice system including criminalistics, victimology and forensics investigations.

This curriculum offers a balanced blend of theory and application employed in the field by integrating interpersonal skills along with administrative subject matter. You will learn about the criminal justice process and learn to improve your interpersonal communication skills. Interdisciplinary study of the mechanisms of social control, criminology and criminal justice in American society is offered by the program. The curriculum includes training in the latest technology, criminal law and procedures, communication and cyber crime issues. The program aims to help graduates develop and enhance those skills in human relations that are necessary to be successful in the industry, as well as acquire an understanding of the causes of and prevention of crime.

This program will prepare graduates to pursue positions in the criminal justice arena, including cyber security and similar fields, law enforcement*, corrections, private investigation, and security. Successful graduates will have the valuable skills and knowledge essential to being able to recognize, resist and recover from attacks on networked systems and to pursue entry-level positions involving criminal justice, such as local, state and federal law enforcement jobs.
