Human services schools in Florida prepare students to work in a variety of social service careers working as drug and alcohol counselors, welfare case workers, domestic and sexual abuse counselors and caseworkers, and social workers. Degrees offered include two-year associate’s, four-year bachelor’s, and master’s. Classes include the social services system, drug and alcohol addiction, therapy methods, criminal justice and legal system, and counseling psychology. The human services job market is expected to remain very strong with increased demand for workers through 2020. Students can expect a high level of competition for jobs but there are expected to be many open positions.
