Paralegal Program
The paralegal program will help jumpstart your future in one of the fastest-growing occupations in the United States. The demand for paralegals is increasing greatly. Covering a thorough overview of litigation and its components is the end goal of the Paralegal program.
The critical tools needed to aid lawyers, clients, and court personnel will be given. Legal Assistants also known as paralegals should not offer legal help to the community, unless the law allows them to.
Paralegal Class
The Paralegal Program develops your skills in preparation for duties such as researching legal issues, summarizing documents, preparing pleadings, drafting legal documents, and organizing trial notebooks. You will learn vital principles concerning the formation and breach of contracts, as well as remedies for breaches of contracts. You will need to know all terminology, policies, and procedures of estate planning, wills, trusts, estate taxes, estate sales, and joint tenancy.
Criminal and family law are other main topics covered in this course. Divorce, legal separation, custody disputes, adoption, legal guardianship and property litigation are all covered through family law. Common law, statutory crimes & punishments, crime classification, principles of liability, and basic criminal procedure concepts are all covered in the criminal law courses.
The only ABA approved program at Everest College is the paralegal program at the Phoenix Campus.
