Criminal justice schools in Hawaii prepare students for a wide variety of careers in social service and law enforcement. Criminal justice classes provide students with an understanding of the criminal justice system. Students learn the policies, procedures, and agencies that make up the entire system. Classes include criminology, criminal behavior, social psychology, deviant behavior, intro to criminal justice, forensics, investigative techniques, and statistics. Most programs are found within colleges that offer two-year associate’s or four-year bachelor’s degrees. Many programs offer externship opportunities that allow students to work within a criminal justice agency under supervision. Externships usually take place near the end of the program.
